Aluminum products are everywhere. In our homes you will find this metal with multiple properties both in windows and doors , kitchen utensils and electronic products. For architects and engineers, aluminum is a valuable material for the construction of buildings and bridges. While renewable energy relies on it for solar panels, wind turbines and cables.
All this because aluminum has very useful characteristics: it is light, flexible and particularly versatile. But there is another truly precious quality: aluminum is infinitely recyclable. It remains substantially unchanged regardless of how many times it is reworked and used. Therefore, it can be considered as a material with permanent characteristics, which is not consumed and which, used over and over again, does not lose its essential properties.
However, the production cycle of virgin aluminum from Bauxite has a high energy cost as well as a significant environmental impact caused by mining and water consumption. Therefore, for several years now, the use of producing aluminum through recycling has been spreading.
In this way the energy cost is reduced by up to 95% without sacrificing in any way the quality of the final product which, as specified, remains intact. Italy, a country notoriously poor in Bauxite, has managed to make up for this lack of raw material by launching a strong recycling campaign, with obvious benefits. Today, in the aluminum recycling business, Italy is at the top of the world together with: Germany, Japan and the United States.
Much of the recycled aluminum comes from the construction field, in particular aimed at the recovery in favor of windows and doors. Sipar, as an Italian company producing aluminum rolling shutters, is committed to giving its contribution in this cause.
The eco-compatibility of Sipar products is guaranteed through the use of primary and recycled aluminum and chromium-free, used for the production of shutters and sunshades of high construction quality but that in no way want to have a heavy negative impact on the environment.
We remind you that Sipar eco-compatible products made of recycled aluminum have some important characteristics. First of all, these are light and at the same time sturdy rolling shutters, which allow you to better manage the entry of light into the rooms. Secondly, these products allow to benefit from a significant energy saving both in winter and in summer, contributing to the maintenance of an unaltered average temperature inside the house.

Towards a Greener future
The eco-compatibility of Sipar products has an important goal. Aluminum is indeed vital for Europe. It is a solution to many social and economic challenges that our continent faces in an attempt to build a more sustainable and resource-efficient economy. This is because aluminum is not only infinitely recyclable but the low energy levels required for the recycling process compared to those required for its initial production make it a real “energy bank”.
Thanks to these qualities, 75% of all aluminum ever produced is still in use today. Europe is currently the largest per capita recycler in the world. Over half of all aluminum used in the European Union comes from recycled aluminum and this trend is increasing.
The goal for Europe remains to increase the relationship between recycled and new material wherever possible. This requires innovation in the collection and sorting of the used aluminum in order to recover every last piece of metal. Sipar is with Europe in this project that looks to the future with hope for the new generations and respect for the environment.
